And So It Begins....

December 11th I told my husband of 8 years and partner of 15 years that I wanted a separation.  The decision didn't come easy.  This my journey......

My Humble Abode

I started moving in December 20th.  Our new home is 1000 sq. ft.  It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.  It has a fireplace and some hardwood flooring.  It is bright and cheery! One of the things that drove me nuts in my home with my husband was that I couldn't paint.  The house was his grandparents and he didn't want to "rock the boat."  First thing I did???  PAINTED!!!  It was so liberating.  I felt like I was taking charge of ME and my space. My kitchen is a cheerful yellow.  It is called Melted Butter and it makes me happy.  I look our little eating area with the table my mom got us.  My kitchen is a galley kitchen but it is a great size and has tons of storage! A Single Mom on Mother's Day

Mother's Day as a single mom looks a little different. There is no partner to take the kids out shopping for gifts or remind the kids to make something for mommy. There is a chance that on the weekend of Mother's Day you won't even have your child, you will have to ask if she can come home early to spend the afternoon with you. Mother's Day will be church in the morning alone surrounded by other mothers holding tightly to their children beaming with pride. You may feel slightly sorry for yourself but as you see other mother's you realize how incredibly lucky you are to be in their company and that there are many women who will never be called "mom." You count down the seconds until your daughter gets home as you do every weekend she is gone. You can't wait to hear about her weekend and snuggle on the couch soaking in every ounce of her smiles and love. Failure

Today is a down day....BIG TIME.  Not only did Ashley crack my computer screen but I didn't get a sub job and Husband and I had a big fight over money.  I think we are at the end of the road.  This has been a really hard night for me. I feel like a failure.  I failed at marriage. I had 5001 things to say about this a few minutes ago, but right now, I just need to cry.
