The Best Email Ever Received

I was racking my brain to come up with my last post for Yahoo! when I got the best email EVER from a client!

Let me give you a little bit of back info.  I work for a client who is TOUGH.  No matter what I do, he never makes me feel like it is enough.  I grew their Facebook fan # from 10,000 to over 300,000 in just 6 months.  The 200,00 fan mark was huge as we beat another brand within the same company.  I was so excited and when I called with the news not only did he not say "Good Job" he actually said, "Next goal 250,000.  Go get'em!"

I just had to laugh.  It is like a parental relationship......an A- in Spanish isn't good enough....."Why didn't you get an A?"  It kills me.  It happens all the time though so I am now use to it and just roll my eyes and laugh it off.  I get a million pats on the back from my actual boss and that helps ease the pain.

We recently started a big promotion with a magazine company.  The promotion has been slow moving and so in order to stimulate it a bit, I started posting the deal on deal sites.  It was a lot of work but I aim to please.  My post got picked up by one of the BIG sites and was chosen as a "Deal of the Day."  I didn't even know since I had gone onto so many sites and hadn't had time to go back and check.

At 8:30 p.m. I was checking email and noticed an email titled "Fatwallet-pickup.ppt."  I clicked on it sure that I had made a spelling error or done something wrong.  All the email said was...

It also had a picture of the deal attached to it but it only had those 4 simple words.  It is the best email I have ever gotten from this man!!!!!  I actually printed it and hung it at my desk.  True story!

My Humble Abode

I started moving in December 20th.  Our new home is 1000 sq. ft.  It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.  It has a fireplace and some hardwood flooring.  It is bright and cheery! One of the things that drove me nuts in my home with my husband was that I couldn't paint.  The house was his grandparents and he didn't want to "rock the boat."  First thing I did???  PAINTED!!!  It was so liberating.  I felt like I was taking charge of ME and my space. A Single Mom on Mother's Day

Mother's Day as a single mom looks a little different. There is no partner to take the kids out shopping for gifts or remind the kids to make something for mommy. There is a chance that on the weekend of Mother's Day you won't even have your child, you will have to ask if she can come home early to spend the afternoon with you. Mother's Day will be church in the morning alone surrounded by other mothers holding tightly to their children beaming with pride. You may feel slightly sorry for yourself but as you see other mother's you realize how incredibly lucky you are to be in their company and that there are many women who will never be called "mom." The Big Cleanse

Tomorrow I am embarking on a cleanse. It all started when Cristie and Amy banded together to get Amy healthier. I wanted in on the fun so Cristie and I talked about it, but then life happened and we never really connected. I started getting healthy on my own and things were going great. They still are but I have hit a little bit of a plateau now that I am back working. Last week Cristie told met that she was going to do a 2 week cleanse with some people, including Amy and did I want to join in? I jumped at the chance. Here I am on the day before the cleanse starts and I am FREAKING OUT! First, I am cutting out caffeine. I like to think that I am not addicted to my morning cup of coffee (or 2) but I am sure that I am. This one is going to be tough. I am not looking forward to it. Coffee has become a comfort for me in the morning so taking that away will be hard. I am going to replace coffee with some yum tea and hope that I can get comfort from that.
