Christmas

I can't wait for Christmas to be over. This is mainly because I have no plans. No where to go, no family to hang with. LG and I will be together Christmas Eve morning and Christmas afternoon but I am so sad that she won't be waking me up on Christmas Day.

Such is the life of a single mom I guess.

I am excited for the presents Ashley is going to get because I am sure she will love them this year. Honestly though, I just want the holidays to be over and done with. I have been crying a whole lot more than normal.

Hurry up 2011!!!

    I can't imagine Lia! I asked my mom about this a few years back. My Dad lived so far away and I would be gone every other holiday and gone for months in the summer....she said it was really lonely and quiet and she just tried to stay busy and do the things she couldn't normally do when I was around like Date! Ha

My Humble Abode

I started moving in December 20th.  Our new home is 1000 sq. ft.  It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.  It has a fireplace and some hardwood flooring.  It is bright and cheery! One of the things that drove me nuts in my home with my husband was that I couldn't paint.  The house was his grandparents and he didn't want to "rock the boat."  First thing I did???  PAINTED!!!  It was so liberating.  I felt like I was taking charge of ME and my space. My kitchen is a cheerful yellow.  It is called Melted Butter and it makes me happy.  I look our little eating area with the table my mom got us.  My kitchen is a galley kitchen but it is a great size and has tons of storage! A Single Mom on Mother's Day

Mother's Day as a single mom looks a little different. There is no partner to take the kids out shopping for gifts or remind the kids to make something for mommy. There is a chance that on the weekend of Mother's Day you won't even have your child, you will have to ask if she can come home early to spend the afternoon with you. Mother's Day will be church in the morning alone surrounded by other mothers holding tightly to their children beaming with pride. You may feel slightly sorry for yourself but as you see other mother's you realize how incredibly lucky you are to be in their company and that there are many women who will never be called "mom." You count down the seconds until your daughter gets home as you do every weekend she is gone. You can't wait to hear about her weekend and snuggle on the couch soaking in every ounce of her smiles and love. The Big Cleanse

Tomorrow I am embarking on a cleanse. It all started when Cristie and Amy banded together to get Amy healthier. I wanted in on the fun so Cristie and I talked about it, but then life happened and we never really connected. I started getting healthy on my own and things were going great. They still are but I have hit a little bit of a plateau now that I am back working. Last week Cristie told met that she was going to do a 2 week cleanse with some people, including Amy and did I want to join in? I jumped at the chance. Here I am on the day before the cleanse starts and I am FREAKING OUT! First, I am cutting out caffeine. I like to think that I am not addicted to my morning cup of coffee (or 2) but I am sure that I am. This one is going to be tough. I am not looking forward to it. Coffee has become a comfort for me in the morning so taking that away will be hard. I am going to replace coffee with some yum tea and hope that I can get comfort from that.
