Surrounded By Love
Part of this process for me is counting my blessings. Yes, this phase is lonely. Yes, I am poor financially but I am very rich in the heart.
I have reached out to friends that I have lost track of over the years and welcomed them back into my life. I have gone back to church and am hoping to meet more friends that way. I have made some friends that aren't married so I am not always the only "single one." I am surrounded by love.
More than just having an abundance of friends is the abundance of love I feel. Many of my girlfriends have stepped up to the plate and are helping me learn to budget (Princess ALERT over here!), showing me new places to look for jobs and cheering me on along the way. They are amazing for bouncing ideas off of and are just great at listening. They are even great at holding their opinions when I talk about trying to make my marriage work, simply pointing out the pros and cons.
Last Friday night I was supposed to go to a birthday dinner for a girlfriend. Truth be told, I shouldn't have been going because I couldn't afford it. I had planned on at least going for a drink and to enjoy some company. I got ready and headed out. After driving down the street I felt really down. I am not used to not being able to afford things. I turned around and came home. I sent Stefania a message letting her know that I wasn't going to come and she immediately texted back that she was going to call me.
We talked and she listened to me cry. She told me about the time she had to make $10 last two weeks and I realized that I didn't have it so bad. I LOVED that she picked up the phone and I know she knew it was what I needed. I agreed that I would maybe come out for dessert but dinner ran late, I drink too much 2 Buck Chuck and got in my jammies. I felt content.
I am loved. Even though all of my faults and my wrong doings, I am loved. My true friends have not judged me. For the first time in my life I realize that true friends aren't necessarily that I see every day, they are the ones that would drop anything to listen and love me no matter what.

Well said! The best thing is to surround yourself with people who will be there for you anytime you need it!
